Summary

An error occurred in the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Search (SharePointPSSearch) service. One of the checkpoint files is missing, and the data structures were reset.

Causes
This rule does not contain any causes.
Resolutions

This is usually a hardware problem. Do the following:

  • Check your hard disk drive and other hardware and verify that everything is working properly.

  • Ensure that no one is manually deleting any of the checkpoint files.

Look in the Application event log for more information. To do this:

  • On the taskbar, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.

  • In the console tree, click Application. To see a description of an event, double-click the event in the details pane.

There may be additional information about the error in the Data section of the Event Properties dialog box.

Address any issues in the event log that are responsible for this failure.

Restart the SharePointPSSearch service.

Reset the content index and run a full update.
