Summary

An error occurred in the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server Search (SharePointPSSearch) service. Crawling failed because the content source cannot be accessed.

Causes
This rule does not contain any causes.
Resolutions

Do the following:

  • On the Site Settings page, in the Search Settings and Indexed Content section, click Configure search and indexing.

  • On the Configure Search and Indexing page, in the Other Content Sources section, click Manage content sources.

  • Click the content source in the list.

  • Ensure that the address for the content source is correct.

  • Ensure that the Web site for the content source is available from your Web browser. Click Exclude and Include Content, and ensure that the rules for this content source do not use an access account that cannot access the Web site for the content source.

  • In SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration, in the Component Configuration section, click Manage the Search Service.

  • On the Manage Search Settings page, in the Search Service Settings section, click Configure account and proxy settings.

  • On the Configure Server Farm Account Settings page, ensure that the default content access account has the correct permissions to access the content source.
