This checks for the availability of all host instances (BTSNTSvc.exe) for the BizTalk host. An orchestration is a business process built using the XLANG/s language and is executed in the XLANG engine. The application is a logical grouping in the BizTalk Server Administration console. Other entities in BizTalk Server can be grouped under the application, which helps provide health information to each application. A host is a logical representation of a Microsoft Windows process that executes BizTalk Server artifacts such as send ports and orchestrations. A host can be either an in-process host, which means it is owned and managed by BizTalk Server, or an isolated host, which means that the BizTalk Server code is running in a process that is not controlled by BizTalk Server.

Summary

Orchestrations are used in BizTalk Server to design and represent a business workflow. Orchestrations essentially govern the flow of the process and invoke necessary components at each step. In BizTalk Server,

orchestrations can be created using the Orchestration Designer in Visual Studio. The status of an orchestration depends on its availability, suspended service instances etc.
