Summary

This monitor indicates that synchronization of the data that is stored in the AD FS configuration database failed. If the same problem does not occur again within 15 minutes, the health state of this monitor will change back to a Green state. The alert that is generated by this monitor must be resolved manually.

Causes

The SQL Server or WID service is not available.

Resolutions

Troubleshoot network connectivity between servers in the federation server farm, and verify that the SQL Server or WID service is available. For more information, see "Verify network connectivity" section and "Verify that the Federation Service can connect to the AD FS configuration database" section in the AD FS troubleshooting guide.
