  • ID:  Microsoft.Windows.FileServer.DFSR.ReplicatedFolderRootMismatchMonitor
  • Description:  This object monitors the path for replicated folders in the DFS Replication database and in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and generates a Warning alert if the paths do not match. When DFS Replication receives configuration information from AD DS for a replicated folder with the same name but a different path as an existing replicated folder, it discontinues replication of the existing folder and replaces it with the local path from AD DS.

Summary

This object monitors the path for replicated folders in the DFS Replication database and in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and generates a Warning alert if the paths do not match. It does so by looking for the presence of DFS Replication Event 6406.

Causes

An unhealthy state of this monitor indicates that the DFS Replication database and AD DS have different values for the local path of a replicated folder. This can occur if an administrator recently changed the local path of a replicated folder during a restore operation.

Resolutions

No action required

If an administrator changed the local path of a replicated folder intentionally, this condition is expected. If it is not expected, check the replicated folder path and if necessary recreate the replaced replicated folder by using a new replicated folder name.

Verification

This monitor resets itself automatically when it detects that the replicated folder initializes replication properly.
