Summary

This object monitors the outbound connections for a replicated folder, and creates a Warning alert if a connection is missing. It does so by looking for the presence of DFS Replication Event 6020. Without this connection, data in the replicated folder will never replicate to other members, and the replication group might experience other problems such as staging issues and problems with the DFS Replication database.

Causes

An unhealthy state of this monitor indicates that a replicated folder is configured without an outbound connection. This can occur if an administrator deletes the outbound connection to try to simulate a read-only replicated folder.

Resolutions

Add an outbound connection

To resolve this issue, create a new outbound connection. To do so, use the Dfsradmin Conn New command, or see Create a Connection (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=165781) for information about how to create a connection by using DFS Management.

Note: To create a connection, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group in the domain in which the replication group is configured, the creator of the replication group, or have been delegated permissions.

Verification

This monitor automatically resets to a healthy state when it detects an outbound connection.
