This object monitors data restore operations on read-only replicated folders and creates a Critical alert if an administrator attempts to authoritatively restore a read-only replicated folder. It does so by looking for the presence of DFS Replication Event 1112.
An unhealthy state of this monitor indicates that an administrator attempted to use a backup program such as Windows Server Backup to perform an authoritative restore of a read-only replicated folder. An authoritative restore returns the replicated folder to its state at the time of backup and prevents normal replication from overwriting that state with any changes that occurred after the backup was taken, and is only supported on read-write replicated folders.
Perform a non-authoritative restore
Retry the restore operation without any authoritative options. Windows Server Backup by default performs non-authoritative restores on read-only replicated folders.
A non-authoritative restore returns the replicated folder to its state at the time of backup and then allows normal replication to overwrite that state with any changes that occurred after the backup was taken.
This monitor automatically resets to a healthy state after this issue is resolved.
