This object monitors the DFS Replication debug log, and creates a Warning alert if it detects that DFS Replication was unable to write to the log. This object monitors the initialization of the DFS Replication debug log and creates a Warning alert if it detects that DFS Replication was unable to initialize the log. This object monitors communication with domain controllers and creates a Warning alert if DFS Replication fails to contact a domain controller. This object monitors the resumption of replication following a backup or restore operation on a volume containing a replicated folder. If replication fails to resume, this monitor creates a Critical alert. This object monitors RPC registration and creates a Critical alert if it detects that DFS Replication was unable to start an RPC listener. This object monitors the DFS Replication service and creates a Critical alert if it stops. This object monitors the DFS Replication configuration objects in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and creates a Critical alert if it detects inconsistency. This object monitors the DFS Replication configuration in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and creates a Warning alert if it detects conflicting or duplicate configuration objects in AD DS. This object monitors configuration updates with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and creates a Warning alert if it detects that DFS Replication couldn’t update AD DS. This object monitors the DFS Replication configuration objects in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and creates a Critical alert if it detects that an attribute of the configuration isn’t valid. This object monitors the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) schema version, and creates a Critical alert if it detects a version that is incompatible with DFS Replication. This object monitors the DFS Replication configuration in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and in the local database, and creates a Critical alert if it detects a configuration parameter that is not valid. This object monitors WMI registration and creates a Critical alert if it detects that DFS Replication couldn’t register itself with WMI. This object monitors whether the configuration information for a connection or replication group in the local DFS Replication database matches the information received from Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). This monitor creates a Warning alert if the connection or replication group configuration is not identical in the local database and AD DS. This object monitors communication between replication partners and creates a Warning alert if any communication errors occur. This object monitors the ability of DFS Replication to contact other members of the replication group, and creates a Warning alert if cannot reach a member of the replication group. This object monitors the replication protocol version of each member of a replication group, and generates a Warning alert if the versions are incompatible. This object monitors the replication group configuration information received from Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and creates a Warning alert if the replication group configuration is incomplete or references an object that doesn’t exist. This object monitors connections between members of a replication group, and creates a Warning alert if any connections are disabled. This object monitors connections for a replication group and creates a Warning alert if it detects missing connections or one-way connections. This object monitors the DFS Replication service’s read-only mini-filter driver, and creates a Warning alert if it detects that the driver isn’t loaded. This object monitors the NTFS change journal on volumes hosting replicated folders, and creates a Warning alert if the change journal is not accessible. This object monitors the creation of NTFS change journals for volumes hosting replicated folders for which a change journal doesn’t already exist, and creates a Warning alert if creating the journal fails. This object monitors the ability of DFS Replication to recover from a wrap (overwrite of old journal entries) of the NTFS change journal. This object monitors the NTFS change journal, and creates a Warning alert if the journal wraps (overwrites old journal entries) on a volume hosting a replicated folder. This object monitors the DFS Replication database, and creates a Warning alert if any errors occur from which DFS Replication cannot automatically recover. This object monitors the shutdown process of the DFS Replication service, and creates a Warning alert if the service shut down abruptly or if a volume hosting a replicated folder went offline abruptly. This object monitors the volume database and creates a Warning alert if the database needs to be recreated. This object monitors volumes that host replicated folders and creates a Warning alert if any errors are detected on the volume that would cause DFS Replication to stop replication. This object monitors the NTFS change journal and creates a Warning alert if the journal wraps (overwrites old journal entries) twice in the past 24 hours on a volume hosting a replicated folder. This object monitors the volumes hosting replicated folders and creates a Warning alert if it detects volumes with conflicting configuration hosting a replicated folder. This object monitors volumes used to host replicated folders and creates a Warning alert if any of the volume are unsupported. This class represents the configuration settings for the DFS Replication service on a monitored computer running Windows Server 2012. This class represents the DFS Replication role service on monitored computers running Windows Server 2012. This class represents a member of a replication group (a server that uses DFS Replication to synchronize files with another server). The filter driver for read-only replicated folder support. This class represents a list of volumes that store replicated folders.

Class Knowledgebase

Summary

This class represents the configuration settings for the DFS Replication service on a monitored computer running Windows Server 2012. Many service-wide configuration settings are retrieved by querying the DFS Replication WMI class DfsrMachineConfig. The properties of instances of this class are set by the DFS Replication Service Configuration Discovery (Windows Server 2012) rule. The following properties are defined for this class:

  • Service status

  • Location of debug logs

  • Conflict and Deleted low watermark threshold setting

  • Conflict and Deleted high watermark threshold setting

  • Staging area low watermark threshold setting

  • Staging area high watermark threshold setting

  • Read-only mini-filter driver status
